By the 8th inning, the Daytona Cubs had a narrow 2-1 lead over the Flying Tigers. A check of the recap will show the Cubs drove three singles in the top of the 8th. It doesn't show that the Flying Tigers pitcher, Brett Jacobson, held the Cubs batters to grounders, but all up the center of the field. One even grazed off the mound and angled off past Flying tigers shortstop Audy Ciriaco. The Flying Tigers pitchers gave up 11 hits with Thad Weber giving up seven of those in his five innings.
