Local Musicians to Rock the Polk

Underground at the Polk

Mark your calendar for October 8th- 8:30 to Midnight. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

You want details?

The original Underground at the Polk is back. Underground is a quarterly live music concert event featuring local bands in the Central Florida area. Born as an annual showcase for local talent, Underground is returning with a killer line-up of some of Lakeland’s best. Mental Giant, Tug and Magnificent Applesauce will grace the historic Polk Theatre with their soothing sonic sounds. (OK, that’s just fun alliteration. These guys are really raucous rulers of rock. OK, that was better alliteration.)

MagSauce will be performing music from their latest EP release, “Mass Of A Million Suns”. And guess what? Yes, we have Mass of a Million Suns – MagSauce. Take a listen. Turn it up. Chad Kostella sings better than Geddy Lee. (Young folks: that’s a compliment. Old folks who love Rush: So does MagSauce.)

Admission is a mere $5 and includes all bands. There will be specialty concessions and food available with $2 beer and wine. 18 and over can attend the show, but none of you under 21 whippersnappers should expect anything stronger than sarsaparilla.

The doors will open at 8pm and seats are first-come first-serve. (No rushing the doors, please.) The music starts at 8:30 and will move along briskly.

Tickets are available online at www.polktheatre.org or at the door.

You’ll notice the Lakeland Local logo on the poster. We’re helping out at the show. Stop by and say hi. Before the music starts. You don’t want to miss a note.
