Smyly’s Bad Day Ends with Ejection – LFT Falls 11-3

Clearwater starter Jonathan Pettibone scattered five hits and allowed three unearned runs as the Threshers beat Lakeland by an 11-3 score. Clearwater scored seven runs (four earned) in the third inning off starter Drew Smyly who was ejected at the end of the inning. Lakeland scored three unearned runs in the sixth inning on a bases-loaded double by Tony Plagman. The Threshers answered with a four-run seventh to seal the win. William Bergolla had two hits to lead Lakeland and had five hits in the two-game series. Lakeland will now host Dunedin a four-game series starting Monday at 5:00 pm. — RECAP — BOX SCORE
