Lakeland Defeats Tampa 5-1

Trevor Feeney held Tampa to one run on four hits and four strikeouts in 7.0 innings while Tony Plagman went 3-for-4 as Lakeland downed Tampa 5-1 on Monday. Tampa’s lone run off Feeney came in the seventh inning. The Flying Tigers took a 3-0 lead in the fifth on a two-run single by Plagman and a run-scoring single by Jordan Lennerton. Lakeland added two runs in the eighth on a double by Corey Jones, and a RBI-double by Daniel Fields, who would later score on a wild pitch and a throwing error. Lennerton and Jones each had two hits for the Flying Tigers which now travel to St. Lucie to open a four-game series against the Mets. — RECAP — BOX SCORE
