Lakeland Ends Slide, Scoots Past Clearwater
John Murrian had three hits while Daniel Fields hit a two-run homer as Lakeland got by Clearwater 4-3 on Wednesday. Fields’ blast over the left field wall came on a 3-2 pitch with Murrian aboard in the third. The Threshers scored solo runs in the fifth and seventh innings to tie the game at 2-all. Brent Wyatt led off the bottom of the seventh with a walk while Murrian followed with a single. Wyatt then scored on a sacrifice fly by Gustavo Nunez while Murrian later scored on a single to right by Brandon Douglas who is hitting .500 in his last 12 games. The two teams play Thursday at 7 pm at Joker Marchant Stadium.
