A new Lakeland adult baseball league is currently is currently searching for players managers and coaches. Affiliated with the National Adult Baseball Association, the Lakeland NABA league is open to players age 21 and up. Players will use wood bats and play a 15-game schedule. Games will be played on Sundays at Lake Bonny Park in Lakeland.
According to league president Rodney Thompson, “Once we have a sufficient amount of interested players, coaches and teams, we will then hold a player tryout where coaches choose players to fill spots on their rosters and where new teams can form with remaining players. Everyone will get a chance to be on a team. This league is designed to give you the best baseball experience ever”
A player can expect to pay $150, which includes umpire fees, league fees, field fees, liability insurance coverage and a complete Major League Baseball replica uniform. The league will include a mid-season all-star game with a home run derby and end-of-season playoff games.
