  1. I’m really concerned about this, specifically when it comes to things like making left turns. Has there been any word of them shortening the yellow light times yet? or accounting for who might be driving the vehicle, or are they strictly ticketing the vehicle owner?

  3. I am also concerned about this. Today I was driving east bound on E. Daughtery Rd. to take a right turn onto N. Socrum Loop Rd. I don’t know if any other drivers have noticed but in order to make the turn you have to pull up a little past the white line because you can not completely see the cars traveling South Bound on N. Socrum Loop. As I did so today the camera flashed and I am wondering if it was because I pulled up past the line. According to the LPD the camera begins as soon as you cross that line. SO, to be safe should we not even make a right turn on red to avoid possibly getting a ticket??? Even though it is not against the law to make a right on red. My passenger can even verify that I did make a complete stop before making the turn but it had to be over the white line to negotiate a safe right turn. There is no way to make this right turn without stopping pass the white line unless you intend on entering traffic blindly. It is ridiculous if one has to take the time to appeal a violation of this matter at an interesection like this, when simply trying to be a safe driver.

  5. We called LPD and the tickets aren’t even reviewed in lakeland, how can obstructions like this be taken into account when the ticket reviewer isn’t even in Lakeland, doesn’t appear even to be in FL (There are example tickets on the web that show them coming from Arizona). Hopefully this doesn’t actaully become a infraction i guess we will see.

  7. David – You may be lucky if it’s even in the United States. A friend in the NYPD tells me that a lot of their camera images are processed overseas because it’s so much cheaper.
