NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams is scheduled to feature Publix Super Markets on an upcoming program.
Representatives from NBC Nightly News with Brian WIlliams will be in Lakeland on Tuesday to do a segment on employment opportunities in the grocery industry during these tough economic times, according to Shannon Patten, a Publix spokeswoman.
The story will focus on how, at a time where many companies are closing their doors or merging with others, Publix continues to grow and create job opportunities by building new stores.
The NBC news crew will visit various Publix facilities throughout Lakeland, including stores and support facilities, Patten said.
Patten didn’t know on Monday when the news segment will air.
Southgate Publix
In other Publix news, construction on the new Southgate store is running ahead of schedule and officials hope to reopen in early October, Patten said.
On a personal note, I’ve enjoyed driving by this location recently and seeing the progress that’s being made. The retro design certainly fits the shopping center and I don’t know if I’m still seeing primer or these are the true colors, but the color scheme looks sharp.
