April 25 Daytona 6 – Lakeland 3

You can read about tonight’s game in the recap, but I wanted to point out one very telling stat: 4,149. Yes, the attendance. The Daytona Cubs out drew the Flying Tigers, and I’m not sure why. The Lakeland team puts on a fine experience. It’s fun and inexpensive to go to a baseball game at Joker Marchant. At least it is after spring training. For the Flying Tigers, parking is free, tickets are very inexpensive, and most people will find the play as good as anything they see the MLB teams do in Spring Training.
I’d love to hear from people who don’t go to the games. Why not?

Apr 25 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E
 Lakeland 0 0 0 0 0 1 2 0 0 3 7 0
 Daytona 1 0 0 3 0 2 0 0 x 6 4 0

  1. Talking with regulars at Jackie Robinson Stadium a couple years ago, I found they have 11 interns just for marketing. While our Tigers always find some fine interns, they have multiple duties to perform other than marketing. Also we are lucky to have 5 interns.

You’ve posed a good question and I’ll be reading for responses. I know you will always find me at the games. And most also don’t know we have a Tiger’s rookie affiliate where the games are absolutely free in the afternoons.
