Ice Cream For Toys At Chick-fil-A

Chick-Fil-A at the RIM, San Antonio, TX

Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays so you can’t try this out today, but here’s something to look into the next time you eat there.

My friend and I went there for lunch recently and she ordered a kid’s meal. No, she’s not watching her weight. But she’s probably right when she says that a kid’s meal likely is closer to the portion size we all should be eating when we get fast food. When you order a kid’s meal, it comes with a toy. Well, if you prefer, you can return your toy at the counter and they will exchange it for an ice cream! This is great for adults who likely have little use for the toy, but I’ll bet there are many children out there who would rather have an ice cream than a cheap, plastic toy made in China with lead paint. Ok, I’m just being hateful with that last part, but you get the point.

So give it a whirl the next time you’re at Chick-fil-A.

Update: I would like to point out that I do not believe Chick-fil-A has ever been in trouble for distributing toys made in China with lead paint. This was me being snarky. On a personal note, I despise the way we Americans are all-consumed with cheap junk made in China, often using manufacturing standards that are not environmentally friendly or up to the standards that exist in the U.S. These products are not made to last, nor are they typically made to be recycled. Therefore, they wind up in our landfills. Any time someone can avoid perpetuating this cycle by giving up the toy in exchange for an ice cream cone- which leaves nothing to have to throw away, I might add, I advocate that.

Chick-fil-A, I love you! Hugs & kisses!

Chik-fil-A toys are rarely cheap junky plastic, they are almost always something educational. They also have really well mannered employees that never even blink when we ask them to give us different toys in each bag if possible instead of ending up with 4 of the same thing. Even with those generosities, we often end up leaving with ice cream cones instead of toys.
