  1. As a native Lakelander, it saddens me to see so many properties run down and empty.  It saddens me even more to know there are many single parent and single GRANDPARENTs raising children who need a nice, affordable safe home.  In these economically challenging times, it would be so exciting to see Lakelanders set a precedence by taking control over our city, cleaning it up and preparing and repairing Lakeland.  Every child in Lakeland and his/her caregiver should have a clean, safe and affordable place to call home.  Certainly the people of this city and Polk Countians would follow the steps of those who prepared before us to secure the present and plan for the future for our families.
