Billy isn’t Just Local

Last night, Billy Townsend published a new article about the Orlando Sentinel editorial board’s CSX coverage.

Don’t scroll down looking for it. You didn’t miss it. Lakeland Local didn’t publish the piece.

Instead, we published it over on Metro i4 News. Mi4 is our sister site and was designed to cover the growing i4 corridor.

Why a sister site? There are some stories we want to cover that simply spill out of our local borders.

So, Lakeland Local will stay focused on both “Lakeland” and “local” while Mi4 will present news, features, and innovative reporting relevant to all residents from St. Pete to Daytona.

Lakeland Local, Metro i4 News, and the Arts in Lakeland will all feature the same look, operation, and contributors. Those interested in Lakeland news only are encouraged to give Mi4 a try, but we’ll understand if you want to continue getting just the local coverage.

Here’s Billy’s article: Why Is It So Hard For The Sentinel To Say “CSX”?

While you’re there don’t forget to check out a new contributor: Winter Haven resident Adam Weeks. He used to write for Empirical Polk, and publishes an active Tumblr blog. As he feels the need, he’ll throw a post or two up on Mi4. His first lets us know about the Flashback Features at Regal Orlando

  1. The whole world has gone mad and Florida’s elected leaders seem to be at the head of the line. I now have 3 heroes; one is Paula Dockery, two is Billy Townsend(keep those articles coming), and 3 is the Polk county commission.
Check out this site (and watch the video) to see a more personal perspective of this “funny business”.
