Today: Polk Museum of Art Free Family Day

If you’re looking for something free and fun for the family here at the end of a Lakeland summer…

From 10 am to 6 pm today, the Polk Museum of Art is opening the doors for free activities and exhibits geared for the kids, but fun for everyone. The themes are “adventure, history, and the frontier life of the late 19th Century.”

* Australian Frontier Music and Culture with Darren Liebman from Didgeridoo Down Under
* Mini Music Lessons with Bluenoche Art & Music Academy
* Free Portrait Sketches by Rick Olivo

* Wheely Amazing Art
* Art Activities with Old West themes
* Face Painting
* Balloon Bending

Those who want to see the Frederic Remington art will still need to purchase admission to that exhibit: $5 Adults, $4 Seniors, and $2 Students. Children under age 5 will be admitted free.

The museum is located at 800 East Palmetto Street.
