The work on South Florida between Highland and Ariana started this morning. While I was prepared for the reduction to two lanes, and no turning lane, I didn’t know they’d planned to close parts of Belmar and Patterson and turn the lights at those intersections to flashing yellow.
Watching the drivers today, it seems more were affected by the change in lights than the reduction in lanes. I saw a greater number of people using Park to get onto Northbound South Florida. Traffic was about normal on Ariana turning onto South Florida. That intersection has been busier while Ariana has served as the detour for the construction on Beacon.
