If you’re free Saturday 3 pm to 9 pm, you might enjoy volunteering at the County’s Leisure Services “CHRISTMAS NOTES” — a pioneer Christmas celebration @ Homeland Heritage Park (between Bartow and Fort Meade).
SANTA’S HELPER – Register kids to be photographed with Santa, and look after Santa, so he doesn’t get trampled by kids.
CAROLING HAYRIDE ATTENDANT – Assignment requires the physical ability to assist guests onto and off of the hay wagon (do not have to lift their entire body weight) & monitor passengers’ safety entering/exiting ride area.
INFLATABLE BOUNCE HOUSE ATTENDANT – Sit/stand outside of the inflatable bounce house and control the # of children allowed in at once. Also make sure they remove their shoes before entering.
MOVIE ATTENDANT – Sit / or stand in movie area and ensure inflatable movie screen remains standing, and switch DVDs between three movies.
EMCEE – Volunteers will sit / stand in the schoolhouse along with the school and church choral groups. As the Emcee, you will announce each group that is about to perform. It is a small venue.
Students can receive volunteer hours for academic credit.
They’ll supply free refreshments. The kids will supply the fun.
