This morning the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration announced they had suspended Cardinal Health’s license to distribute controlled substances from its Lakeland distribution center.
The company was sanctioned by the DEA for not having effective controls against the diversion of hydrocodone (Vicodin). The DEA claimed that Cardinal sent the drug to retail pharmacies that allegedly did not properly dispense the drugs.
The license suspension starts Monday, December 10th, but the center will be allowed to stay open to distribute other products. The Lakeland center employees around 300 and is located at 2045 Interstate Drive.
