Last year Empirical Polk’s Josh Hallett organized BlogOrlando, an “unconference” on blogging. In addition to Josh, the event was attended by The Ledger’s Barry Friedman and Heidi DeVries. The paper was considering adding blogging to their lineup. Oh, and I was there. I’d been blogging for years, but hadn’t added Lakeland Local to my resume. Polk County seemed well represented.

This past Friday BlogOrlando 2007 was held. Again, Josh organized the event. Again, everyone had a good time talking about blogging and more. What’s more was the Polk County contingent had expanded considerably.

I didn’t get to chat with all of them, but I did speak to all the Lakeland bloggers. Barry Friedman made it again. New this year was The Ledger’s Tom Palmer and Merissa Green. YLakeland’s Cathalain Carter, and Tales from the Delk Side’s Lorrie Delk Walker also attended. Walker blogged the sessions she attended. Darby Critendon, of the Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau also spent the day. She doesn’t yet have a blog, but I’m sure we’ll soon hear from her.

I don’t doubt Josh will soon have a wrap-up post. In the meantime, you can check out the pictures on Flickr. It seems half the attendees were taking photos.
