Munn Park UnveilingOn Saturday, the Lakeland Florida of the United Daughters of the Confederacy dedicated a monument to Confederate Army veterans buried in Roselawn Cemetery.

The photo at left isn’t of the monument at Roselawn, but is from the unveiling of the Confederate Monument in Munn Park on June 3rd, 1910.

    Mr. Webb:

I saw with interest the picture of the dedication of the Confederate Memorial in Munn Park. I have reason to believe that the statue may have come the marble plant near Marietta Georgia which was at partially owned and operated by my Great Grandfather Samuel Mozley.
Additionally, I, based on my Uncle Raymond Mozley’s years of research, do have quite a bit of information on Civil war pensions, connecting family lines, letters between family members and friends, old land grants and the aftermath of the years of civil war. I do have quite a few pictures of people from that era and afterwards.
While not willing to part with the research (it goes to my son upon my death), I am willing to share the information with others.
Additionally, although I am sure many others are aware of it, there is a small church just South West of Mulberry where many Confederate soldiers, including some of my husband’s family are buried. I have taken pictures of this site and would also be willing to share those pictures.
    Sincerely,

    Vivian Bell Jones
