Bike Trail descriptions in Lakeland

To make it easier for those drivers in Florida who want to do business in Spanish for their auto insurance needs, GEICO is directing them to its new Web site: http://www.migeico.com. The new site offers visitors online auto insurance rate quotes and they can also purchase a GEICO policy at http://www.migeico.com.– yahoo.com

Officials expect to enroll nearly 3,500 students in Lakeland by 2009, when construction is expected to begin on the new campus. There are 1,145 people enrolled at a campus USF shares with Polk Community College. — TBO

Lakeland’s Permit Center located on the first floor of City Hall is closed for remodeling. The temporary location is on the first floor of the Lakeland Electric Building (501 E. Lemon St.) in conference rooms 1-A and 1-B . The temporary location will include house building inspection, property information and occupational licensing.

This summer the center will move into a permanent location at City Hall, 228 S. Massachusetts Ave.

The odd little sign in the photo (you may have to click the photo to see the sign) was at the corner of Olive and Missouri. At least it was until a few days after I took the photo. I plan to put similar signs above my desk and in our garden.
