Pitchers and catchers have reported and spring training is off to a cool weather start. That photo at left is a sign I found yesterday at Tiger Town. And here I thought the team had most positions filled.
This is our first Spring Training at Lakeland Local. We’re doing what we can for the fans here at home and those coming from Michigan.
If you’re reading us at Polk Voice, or through a feed, you’re missing our special Spring Training content. In our center column, we’re featuring: a photo a day from Lakeland’s premier baseball photographer, Roger DeWitt, quick links to all Lakeland Local baseball posts, links to Tigers and Michigan related sites, Lakeland weather conditions, maps to local hotels and directions to every spring training park in the Grapefruit League.
As I think of other content I’ll add it to the column. But Lakeland Local isn’t the only online Spring Training destination. The Lakeland Ledger is out in full force this spring and not just with words and photos. The Ledger’s special Tigers section includes video, fan photos, and forums. I really like their Tiger Fan video idea. Just make your own small video, upload it to the Ledger, and share your experience with Tiger fans everywhere. Read Barry Friedman’s column announcing the new section.
